This 1956 Dodge Coronet Lancer was just re-painted and has an excellent 50s look! Due to Dodge's excellent sales in 1955, the company made only a few changes to its product offerings going into 1956. From the front, the 1956 models looked virtually the same as the previous year; however, the sides and rears underwent a minor re-design. Perhaps the biggest stylistic change that occurred in 1956 were the new rear fenders that began to look more like the wings that grew in popularity as the decade progressed. It was also at this time that Chrysler's "Forward Look" program began to take hold, capitalizing on Virgil Exner's aviation-inspired, aerodynamic designs. So, with the new "Saddle Sweep" side trim and the new rear "Jet Fins," the '56 Dodges started having this new "Forward Look." Under the hood on this particular '56 Coronet Lancer is a 270 Cubic Inch Red Ram V8 paired with a single 2 barrel carburetor, that pushed out 189 horsepower back in its day. The 270 V8 is hooked up to an Automatic Transmission that is shifted using a Push Button dash-mounted shifter, which was new for Dodge in 1956. The exterior on this 1956 Lancer was recently re-painted in a tri-tone paint scheme consisting of Oriental Coral, Charcoal Grey, and Sapphire White. This '56 Lancer sits on 4 wide whitewall radial tires on chrome rims, giving this Dodge a nice ride and classic 50s look. The black vinyl bench seats appear to be in wonderful shape. The door panels, carpeting, headliner, and steering wheel all have a great look as well! The dash is in its stock configuration complete with a 120 MPH speedometer, oil pressure gauge, temperature gauge, amp gauge, and fuel gauge, as well as a push button AM radio. Whether you're looking for a 50s classic car that no one else has or you have a garage full of "forward look" wing cars, this 1956 Dodge Coronet Lancer would make for an excellent choice. Give us a call today!
