SWEDISH MODEL 1889 CRUCIFORM BAYONET

Description

This is a model 1889 Swedish cruciform bayonet. In and about 1889 the Swedes went to a 8mm cartridge requiring an update modification to the  existing bayonets. This required a smaller socket diameter on the bayonet. This was achieved by cutting off the old larger socket just above the shank and brazing a new one with a shorter length. See photos
