TLS - Rear Admiral Winslow Commanding USS Virginia
This is a one page Type letter signed autograph by Spanish American War hero Cameron McRae Winslow, Rear Admiral, USN, dated from the Southern Drill Ground, November 2, 1912.  Also written on the stationery of the US Atlantic Fleet, Third Division, on board the flagship, USS Virginia, commanded by Winslow.
The letter is written to a William S. Waudby, of Washington, D.C., who is requesting the admiral’s signature.
Boldly signed, and very clean.  Perfect for framing.
Admiral Winslow was cited for heroic action during the war with Spain, along with members of his crew, for cutting 2 submarine cables near Cienfuegos, Cuba in 1898.  He was a lieutenant at the time.
