    M1878 Haversack Sling--1908
    Original Model of 1878 haversack sling, brown leather construction with brass wire hooks and riveted leather keeper loops. Strap measures 1 3/4 inches at widest point [center section], tapering down to 1 inch on ends. Well marked on underside of one strap ROCK ISLAND ARSENAL 1908 with inspector's initials T.C. Leather is dark from years of use and age, and is somewhat stiff with average age cracks here and there but still supple enough for static or mannequin display [will probably clean better with your favorite leather dressing]. Nice original piece for use with your period haversack or canteen and is in good condition. Any questions please feel free to ask.
